See the sites

Rome has a never ending number of fantastic sites. You have the option to visit Piazza Navona, Trajan’s Column, the Trevi Fountain, the golden statue of Marcus Aurelius, the Pantheon, St Peter’s, the Forum and Colosseum. All of these sites are so close to one another that you will be able to see them easily over a weekend. Strolling around the city visiting the wondrous sites is a dream holiday. Of course, it is impossible not to visit the vatican. The vatican can get very busy, if this is the case then it is worth your while seeing some of the other lesser know sites.

The best pizza you’ll ever eat

One of the best things about visiting Rome is that you get to eat the best pizza in the world. The greatest thing is that prices don’t match the taste, some restaurants seem to have not increased their prices from the past. You can sit in a great restaurant, eat two pizzas with red wine and not pay more than 25 Euros.

The famous location

There have been so many films and documentaries made in Rome that even if you have never been there you have probably already seen all of the city. Nearly all of the biggest monuments and intimate streets have been used on screen, from La Dolce Vita to the BBC’s Zen series. The most famous movie ever to be filmed in the city is Roman Holiday, you could watch this movie and see all of the sites that you will visit on your holiday.

Poet’s corner

This is one of the places that lacks the usual grandeur and architecture that people associate with Rome. It is the place where one of the world’s most famous poets spent his last six months. John Keats died at just 25 years old, he died of TB in 1821. The house where he died has remained untouched outside, Keat’s moved to this house with the hope of recovering from his illness. The best thing is that everything in the museum is in English, there’s also a great shop for you to pick up a souvenir or two. Just outside you will find the Spanish Steps, perfect!

Treat yourself

There are many places in the capital where you can treat yourself after a long day of exploring. If you’re lucky enough to have the budget to stay in one of the 5 star hotels then you should take full advantage of the facilities. Nothing tops off your long day than a pampering in the spa and a relaxing dip in the pool.
